Education Benefits

NOTE TO COUNSELORS: Most veterans seeking education benefits will qualify for the Post 9-11 GI Bill and some of those for the Yellow Ribbon Program. It is important to remember that veterans must have a copy of their DD-214 (summary of their service in the military) to qualify for any veterans' benefits. Active Duty Resources

NOTE TO COUNSELORS: Some military service-members may face challenges when transitioning out of the military because of the loss of a sense of camaraderie and sometimes the lack of structure they have grown accustomed to in the military. Just like any other nontraditional student, there are unique resources to help them make a smooth transition. Here are a few to keep in mind when helping a servicemember navigate this transition:

There are many nonprofit organizations that help veterans with various issues called Veteran Service Organizations. Here are a few that serve student veterans:
